You can mix a small amount (a tablespoon or two for a medium pot) of worm castings into the top inch of soil or into the potting mix when repotting. For compost tea, make sure it’s well-diluted – often looking like weak tea – before applying. Without a doubt, it is far better to under-fertilize an aloe than to over-fertilize it. Aloe plants are inherently adapted to harsh, nutrient-poor conditions. While under-fertilization might lead to slower growth or slightly less vibrant foliage, it rarely causes permanent damage and can be easily corrected with a light feeding. Over-fertilization, on the other hand, can quickly lead to root burn, which is often fatal and much harder to remedy.
